Chelsea Assaf
Music Therapist (MT)

Hi, I’m Chelsea! I am a board certified Music Therapist who believes that the power of creative music and play can help nurture all aspects of learning and development. My approach is child-centered and neurodiversity-affirming, focusing on each child’s individual interests and strengths while meeting them where they are at in the present moment. I love using music as a bridge to connection, creativity, and communication, while helping nourish and support each child’s development and reach their goals through fun, success-oriented musical experiences.
I completed a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of Ottawa in 2015, and after a few years of travel and living abroad, moved to North Vancouver and completed my Bachelor of Music Therapy from Capilano University in 2023. I have worked as a music therapist with children and youth across Metro Vancouver for over four years in private practice, preschools, the public school system, and after school centres. I also have experience working with youth and adults with mental health and addictions challenges, as well as with seniors in long-term care. Though I love all my work across the bridge, I am excited to be providing Music Therapy to my own community in North Van!
Beyond music, I love travelling, exploring other creative outlets like pottery, and enjoying our beautiful North Shore through hiking, kayaking, and rock climbing!
