Hi I’m Marika!

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I began my career as a primary school teacher, where I loved the dynamic days and the meaningful connections with children and families. Over time, I found myself drawn to learning more about social emotional needs and mental health which led me to pursue a MEd in Counselling.

One of my core areas of practice is exploring what lies beyond behaviour. While in engaging through play, listening deeply, and observing with curiosity I try to uncover the underlying needs and emotions that shape a child’s experience.

With my own need for connection, collaboration, and curiosity, I strive to bring these values into my practice by creating spaces where children feel supported, understood, and empowered to build meaningful relationships in ways that feel right for them.

As a parent of a neurodiverse child, I understand how navigating supports can often feel isolating and overwhelming. That’s why I’m truly excited to be part of the Little Peaks Therapeutic Team and to help bring our community together.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my family, learning my new favorite activities (tennis and skiing) or catching up with friends at a local restaurant.
