Melissa Shong
Rehabilitation
Assistant

Hi, I’m Melissa!
I completed my Bachelor’s of Kinesiology (with a concentration of Exercise Science) at Capilano University. I have worked and volunteered closely with children, providing support to help them grow, learn, and develop new skills. I believe it is important to foster a safe space that
allows children to explore themselves and try new activities to better navigate the world around them.
I am a very outgoing individual who is determined to learn more about how to better support your child. I have worked with Little Peak Therapy since it opened and have a strong passion for working with children. I work closely with the OT’s and SLP’s to help facilitate treatment
tailored to each child’s specific needs. I am also certified in Lego Therapy, which gives children the opportunity to socialize, collaborate, and develop fine motor skills with peers. Working with a rehabilitation assistant is a great way to maximize funding while also refining and
strengthening the goals established by families and therapists.
Outside of work, I love playing indoor volleyball, watching hockey and Formula 1, and have recently started to golf! I also am an avid reader who loves music and travelling in search of the best sweet treat!
