Occupational Therapist (OT)

Hi! I’m Robert (he/him). I’m a pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) who is passionate about supporting children with diverse developmental abilities and neurodivergent brains. My practice is grounded in neurodiversity-affirming principles and evidence-based approaches, using play as a central tool to help each child grow, thrive, and engage meaningfully in their daily life. I value collaboration with families and strive to create a space where every child feels safe, included, understood, and valued.

I earned my Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of British Columbia following my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Honours) from the University of Victoria. Throughout my education, I have worked with children from kindergarten through adolescence and into the transition to adulthood. My clinical training includes supporting children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), cerebral palsy (CP), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), and various muscular dystrophies. I was inspired to pursue occupational therapy while working as a child development assistant, supporting a child with developmental coordination disorder (DCD).

I am committed to lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. I have completed the Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) Comprehensive Workshop by ICAN and the Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing: Managing Complex Issues workshop led by Sherna Marcus. I have completed further education in sensory processing and introductory training in DIRFloortime®. I strive to stay up to date with best practices in pediatric care.

In my work, I collaborate closely with children and their families to develop practical, engaging strategies that build on each child’s strengths and fit naturally into daily routines. Through purposefully incorporated play, creative problem-solving, and meaningful use of my clients’ interests, I aim to support skill development and confidence that carry into all areas of life.

I have grown up and lived internationally and across Ontario and British Columbia and speak English and German fluently. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through running and swimming, cooking and baking for friends (especially chocolate chip cookies), getting lost in a good book, and playing both board games and video games. I also love animals, music, and art. I’m excited to get to know you and to incorporate your child’s favourite interests into our sessions!
